Moving procedure

If you have finally decided to return to Japan, are being transferred to another country, or are planning to move within Germany or Europe, you may be feeling anxious and unsure of where to start.

Our company has a dedicated Japanese coordinator who will support you in your move in the following steps. Please contact us by phone , email , or through our contact form.

Please contact us via the following number. Of course, we will respond in Japanese!

For inquiries in Japanese,
We are also accepting chat inquiries .

01/ Pre-inspection and meeting at your home

Once you have decided to move, the first thing to do is contact us.
After consulting with you about the date and time, a Japanese coordinator will visit your home to inspect the items/work contents, and provide you with information/explanations on the moving schedule. (*If it is difficult for us to visit your home, such as if you are far from our base, we will only discuss the items/work contents over the phone or email if the amount of items is small, or we will confirm the items/work contents via the online quote form .)

The earlier you visit to inspect the property, the more time you will have to make preparations. For example, if you are sending the goods by sea in two installments, it is best to visit about 2-3 months before you return to Japan.

Before the day of the inspection, please prepare by roughly sorting out in your mind what you will be taking with you, which items you would like to have shipped by air, and what kind of furniture you would like us to dispose of. On the day, please let us know the details for each room. Please also check the company's capacity regulations in advance so that we can determine whether the amount of luggage is within the company's regulations.

02/ Delivery of cardboard and other packaging materials

Once we have completed our home inspection and received formal approval of the quotation from our company, we will immediately come to your home to deliver the cardboard boxes for pre-sorting and packing.
We will also provide you with our specially made "luggage sorting stickers" , so you can simply attach the stickers to each item as you sort and pack, and preparation will go smoothly.
If you are packing your items yourself, please refer to the "Notes when packing your items yourself" and feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding packing.

If you would like to pack fragile items such as tableware yourself, please let us know and we will send you air bubble wrap and fragile tape along with the cardboard box.

03/ Packing and collection of luggage

On the day you come to collect your luggage, the most important thing is to keep track of valuables such as your passport, cash, jewellery, as well as your house keys and car keys (especially any spare keys that are not used regularly).
To avoid packing the wrong items on the day of work, the best thing to do is to set up a "locked room" in a part of the room where work will not be done, such as the bathroom, and store the above-mentioned valuables as well as suitcases and cardboard boxes that you will be taking home in this room. Lock the door to the locked room or put a " DON'T PACK" sorting sticker on the door to prevent workers from entering by mistake.

On the day, we will pack fragile items, furniture, etc. (if you choose the ``Omakase Pack'', please leave the packing of clothes, books, etc. to us), create a packing list, and then remove the items and load them onto the truck.

04/ Export customs clearance and shipping arrangements

Once you have picked up your luggage from your home, we will declare it to the relevant customs office as an export as soon as the export application documents are ready, and then arrange for it to be shipped to Japan (or other destinations). Therefore, please prepare a copy of the shipper's passport (the page with their photo) and a copy of their VISA (both front and back if it is a card type, valid for at least one year) by the day of the move.

When moving within Germany or the EU, no import/export declarations are required, so we will arrange for transportation by truck based on the schedule we discuss with you during the site inspection.

When arranging for the export of cargo by sea from Germany, there are cases where, depending on the judgment of customs, you may be asked to present a document to cancel your German resident registration (Abmeldung). In such cases, our coordinator will provide you with guidance on each case.

05/ Import customs clearance and delivery arrangements at destination

After your luggage arrives at its destination, we will make arrangements for import customs clearance. Necessary documents, procedures, prohibited items for import, etc. vary greatly depending on the country, so we will provide you with detailed information during the site inspection.

For luggage bound for Japan, the basic premise is that a "Declaration of Personal Effects and Unaccompanied Baggage" is submitted to the customs office at the arrival airport upon return to Japan for import customs clearance. Therefore, for example, if you would like to receive your luggage immediately after returning to Japan, and your cargo will arrive at the Japanese destination port or airport prior to your actual return date, please consult with our coordinator when inspecting the site.

As soon as the import customs clearance has been successfully completed, we will arrange for delivery to your specified address, and the local side will contact you directly to inform you of the specific delivery date, time slot and other details.

With our standard service, when your luggage is delivered by sea, we will not only carry it into each room and unpack/set up large items such as furniture, but we will also unpack any boxes you have and collect any unnecessary packaging materials (on the same day as delivery), so you can start your new life in your new home smoothly.
